She, is a Spanish beauty. He, her Spanish prince. Bárbara and Carlos married in Ibiza in October 2022. Although we were in late October, it was still very hot that day. Around 30°C in the shade, temperatures required us to seek coolness from time to time.
Both were from Barcelona, and yet they chose to say yes on the beautiful island of Ibiza. I was there to take their wedding photos. Not only super happy with this destination wedding in terms of location but also super happy that I could use my Spanish language skills.
The wedding was just for Bárbara and Carlos, just their two: during an intimate elopement, they chose each other at the pool’s edge. Without witnesses. Without other guests. They chose each other alone, the two of them.
Why was an intimate wedding so important to them? They really wanted to choose and feel love for each other. I, as a photographer, was delighted to capture this emotion!
The location was stunning: a typical Spanish hacienda: Hotel Rural Xereca. The getting ready took place in the hotel’s suite. A beautiful light-filled room with a fantastic terrace. Any photographer’s heart makes a jump anyway when seeing such spaces!
I photographed the bride in her négligé while getting ready, which certainly provides beautiful images. The groom could use a glass of whiskey. Maybe to calm his nerves?
The two got married at the pool of the Hotel Rural Xereca. Without too many frills. They did say their vows to each other and put on each other’s wedding rings. Mostly they enjoyed themselves.
A glass of bubbles and a piece of a delicious wedding cake were necessary to start their wedding photography. How did I know the cake was really delicious? Well, the perks of being a wedding photographer… I don’t say no to that!
We ended their wedding day with wedding photos at the wedding venue. Lots of opportunities to photograph and lots of different angles that provided very diverse images.
Tired, fulfilled… and thoroughly warmed up after all those sun hours, I was satisfied with a refreshing (cold) shower!
